Berry World

I'm a senior business woman constantly learning and striving to improve and increase our exposure to tourism and locals alike. Originally from Western Australia, I love living and working in Timboon.

Gascom (AU) Pty Ltd

Berry World has existed as a commercial and 'pick your own' strawberry and blackberry farm for 58 years. We purchased it from original owners, Joy and Alan Kerr in 2014. During our tenure we have added the Berry Good Thai restaurant (run by 2 Thai national chefs & 1 Thai cook) and Berry Good Accommodation for holiday makers. In addition, we have 2 ponies, 3 pet sheep and some chickens. Kids (and parents) love to feed the animals as well as run, play and pick strawberries. We also grow veges for the restaurant and have added an orchard of apples, nashis, pears, cherries and raspberries.

Distinguished and Famous people from Buloke

🏅 Corey Harrison

Wycheproof volunteer Corey Harrison was named Buloke Citizen of the Year in 2025. His contribution spans CFA service, including brigade captaincy, and coaching and umpiring in football, hockey and cricket. He has also helped raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital as an area manager for the Good Friday Appeal. When he accepted the award, he admitted that the gathering of so many friends and relatives had finally made him suspect something was afoot. The recognition celebrated years of work across several parts of community life.

⚖️ Sir John Vincent Dillon

Sir John Vincent Dillon, known as Jack, was born at Charlton in 1908. Beginning public service as a messenger, he worked his way through court administration and became a magistrate and senior departmental head. In 1973 he was appointed Victoria’s first ombudsman. Critics questioned whether a career bureaucrat would challenge his former colleagues; in his first year, the department against which he upheld the most complaints was his own old department. By retirement he had investigated almost 13,000 written complaints. Charlton was his birthplace, before a career that eventually gave citizens a new route for questioning administrative decisions.
