Buloke is a shire located in the northwestern part of the state of Victoria, Australia. Named after a type of eucalyptus tree that is native to the region, this area is full of history, culture, and natural wonders. Here are some interesting facts about Buloke:

1. The region is home to several unique and endangered species of plants and animals, including the Buloke Cypress and the Mallee Fowl.

2. The Buloke Shire was established in 1995, when the former Shires of Charlton, Donald, St Arnaud, and Wycheproof were merged.

3. The area has a rich Indigenous history, with the traditional landowners being the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia, and Jupagulk peoples.

4. The town of Charlton in Buloke was home to the first ever Australian Football League Grand Final in 1898.

5. The famous Australian bushranger, Ned Kelly, spent time in the Buloke region, and is said to have robbed many of the local hotels.

6. The Wimmera-Mallee pipeline, which supplies water to northwestern Victoria, passes through the Buloke region.

7. The Donald Sheepdog Trials, which have been held annually since 1956, are a major event in Buloke, attracting competitors from all over Australia.

8. The town hall in the town of Sea Lake is the largest in Victoria and the second largest in Australia, after the Sydney Town Hall.

9. The fastest land mammal in the world, the cheetah, can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. This is approximately the same speed as a car travelling on a highway in Buloke.

10. Buloke is also known for producing some of the best wheat and grain in all of Victoria, and is a major contributor to Australia's agricultural industry.
